Slain in the Spirit

Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” Acts 9:4

Recently the church had revival and on several nights some were “slain in the Spirit”.
I know such a move has a lot of negative comments spawning from some televangelist’s that seemingly make an act out of it.
Certainly some genuinely “fall out” and some fake it.
I’m not one that pushes it. And I won’t push you. If you are slain it’s because of God. I may lay a hand on you and pray for you but I am not going to push you down or catch you if you fall unless you might injure yourself by hitting a chair or something.
It happened to me once. I wasn’t looking for it. There wasn’t several people around me creating so much heat that I just fainted. I have fainted before and this was not like that.
I fell. From what others told me, I hit the floor hard and yet I had no ill effects.
I have no concrete scriptural reference for slain in the Spirit.
When the bright light of the Lord shone around Saul, he fell to the ground.
The Lord Jesus appeared to John and this is what he said about that encounter – when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. Rev 1:17
At the dedication of the Temple it is written the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. 2 Chron 5:14
These verses are common with those believing in being slain.
I’m not going to push it or deny it. If it happens to you as it happened to me, you can’t control it. You cannot make it happen but you can resist it and fight against the Holy Spirit.
I’m just here to minister the word and pray for you. I pray God touches and ministers to you and if He chooses to fill you with the Spirit, slay you, or give you a gift – I say receive it!

  1. With an attitude like that…I believe that is a teachable heart. Holding every thing up to the Word of God, seeking His wisdom, how could any one go wrong?
