Deceived – Part 2

Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them, lest the Lord’s anger be aroused against you… Deut 11:16-17

The Lord God gave a warning about worshiping other gods. He says deception leads away from Him.
There is no lack of something to worship today. Mankind has idealized and fantasized himself into creating a god in his own image. I’m not the first person to think about it since it is a common atheistic defense – God is man-made.
When the One True God does not fit a lifestyle then someone creates a new god that does.
Armed with this thinking, it makes no difference what the Bible says because it is considered man-made too or outdated and desperately needing revision to match modern social thought.

It’s interesting how the apostle Peter wrote about this very thing – there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words. 2 Peter 2:1-3

God’s will for you is repentance, forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. He desires only the best for you.
You are deceived when you forsake God’s will!
I put it this way: God says, “Worship Me only!” Satan says, “No worship is phony!” Man chooses his own holy!

Do not create your own way of holiness. You have none, according to God’s word. The only choice is salvation through Jesus!

  1. It’s all about relationship with Christ. If that’s in place we can ask Him anything. Like for an understanding of His Word. (The Word became flash) To ask for understanding of the Word is to want an understanding of the Son of God. To draw neigh to Him. The more we know Him the more we can recognize deception.
