The Promise

And this is the promise that He has promised us — eternal life. 1 John 2:25

What has God promised you – long life, health, and riches?
Many believe so.
I knew a woman from many years ago that became sick. She stood on the verse that “by His stripes we are healed.” (Isa 53:5)
Don’t get me wrong, I believe that scripture but it does not strictly promise a physical healing in this life.
Paul recounts have a “thorn in the flesh” that he prayed three times for to God to remove. God in His wisdom chose to leave it and told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor 12:9
Paul realized the healing came when he gladly lived with infirmities and glorified God through them.
The woman, I mentioned, did not get better but continued getting worse and eventually died.
Let me ask – is she healed?
Yes, the ultimate healing. She knew Jesus as Savior and now has no more pain, no more tears, and no more death.
God promises that when you accept Jesus as Savior you have forgiveness of sin and eternal life with Him.
When you keep your mind set on Him, He promises to comfort you through all trials of life.

  1. Thanks for posting. Do you believe in present-day miracles of healing? Have you witnessed one? If yes, have you written an account somewhere? Just interested. Blessings.
