Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. Luke 8:35
Had this story made it to Facebook it would say, “Some local men went out to the cemetery but never expected this to happen!”
It seems every day on Facebook is a bait story – a picture and words meant to dangle a carrot and get you to click on and read the article.
There’s a photo of a mom holding a child taking a selfie on a plane. The bait line says, “This mom traveling to see her parents never expected this to happen!”
Of course, it’s designed to get you curious enough to click on the article and read it. That’s when you discover there’s nothing to the story.
The Bible is full of phrases like “And it happened…”, “Now it happened…”, and “Then it happened…”
The difference between the Bible and Facebook are the stories of the Bible are real encounters with a life-changing God.
My own story would contain a photo with a teenage boy reading a Christian tract. He never expected what happened next!
What happened is I accepted Jesus as my Savior. Totally changed my life.
I wasn’t expecting that!
If you give your life to the Lord, you never guess what happens next – but you’ll love it!
