When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.” Mark 5:6-7
I find it interesting the man possessed with a “legion” of demons ran to worship Jesus. Then the truth came out. He wanted nothing to do with Him.
Watch out for fake worshippers!
They hold up their hands, they bow their head, they come to church, and they’ll sing a few songs. Yet they really want nothing to do with Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:5 – having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Such are these type fake worshippers.
The previous verses let you know exactly the kind of people they are.
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 2 Tim 3:2-4
I know you’ve read that before. I’ve used the scripture before. But in the last days this behavior only increases. Fake worshipers will infiltrate the church.
They need a true relationship with Jesus.
When that happens, like the demon possessed man, you will find them in their right mind and desiring to serve the Lord.
Fake worshippers can become faithful worshippers.
