You have commanded us, to keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes! Ps 119:4-5
As I trolled through Facebook last night, I found someone that was totally ashamed of America. The rant continued and continued – completely about the election. Even to the point she asked that any friends that voted for President Trump to disassociate themselves.
I scrolled back through political this and that. Nothing encouraged me. Nothing gave hope. Nothing said anything positive.
I really do not want to be like that!
I, too, can get political and rant and go on a tirade.
I don’t want to be like that.
I want my ways, my words, and my thoughts to be those of my Lord.
God’s words through the prophet Isaiah come to mind: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isa 55:8-9
My prayer: Lord, direct me to speak as You speak, to act as You act. Give me strength when my mouth is tempted to speak mean, hurtful things.
