Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15
The Gospel is the Good News!
It surrounds so much more than just what the preacher says on Sunday!
The angels announced the gospel to the shepherds at His birth saying, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
When the angel announced the good tidings (euangelizomai), he used a Greek word closely tied together with the word for evangelist (euangelistas).
When Mark said Jesus came preaching the gospel (euangelion) the word is also closely tied together with evangelist and evangelism.
When you declare the good testimony of Jesus, you give the gospel and evangelize.
When you ask others to repent and accept Jesus as Savior, you give the gospel and evangelize.
This is the good news the world needs to hear and you’re the evangelist to spread it today!
