For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. James 1:23-24
There are three different views of you.
There is the way you see yourself.
You look in a mirror and fix your hair, put on makeup, adjust a tie, and make sure nothing is out of place.
Your mind tells you that you’re likeable and funny. Maybe you look in the mirror and believe you’re really good looking.
Then again you may look in the mirror and see someone that hopeless and helpless. You lack self-confidence and cannot bear to speak to people.
There is also the way others see you.
Despite how you feel about yourself, others may see you differently. You may think you’re the best looking person ever – God’s gift to the other gender. But others look past your good looks and see conceit. You’re shy but others think your stuck-up and unfriendly.
Then there is the way God sees you.
He knows all about you and you can’t fool Him.
Other’s may think you are conceited or unfriendly but God loves you. So much, He gave His Son for you so you can be with Him.
Now what do you think about Jesus? How do you feel about Him and the type person He is?
God wants you to be like Him – For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son Rom 8:29
Don’t think “me” today, think Jesus!
