Matt 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Chances are you have seen a sparrow, a common enough bird that hops around on the ground pecking at this and that. It chirps and builds a nest, lays eggs, and raises more sparrows.
The sparrow you see today may look like the sparrow you see next year but there is no guarantee of that.
Sparrows hatch and sparrows die.
To you and me the difference between this one and that one may be unrecognizable.
God knows the difference between each.
Not only sparrows but also God is mindful of chickadees, hummingbirds, eagles, hawks, and every other bird.
The Bible makes it clear that if God knows of each sparrow, then He knows you too. In fact, you are more important. He may provide the birds of the air with food and water, yet He provided salvation for you!
Jesus came, knowing and talking about sparrows but dying for you.
