Faith grabs a snake by the tail.

“And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand),”‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4:3-4‬
I’m at church camp today where our lessons this week will be on the life of Moses. So this morning I decided to do a refresher by reading about him.

I didn’t get very far before a thought struck me.
When Moses met God at the burning bush, he was unsure about his ability to really do anything for God.

God had him throw down his staff. It became a snake.
Moses jumped back!
That’s probably not unusual. Most everybody would jump back. I know a few that would have ran away, never to be seen the rest of the day.
I remember finding a snake while geocaching near a zoo. I jumped back quickly because a snake and zoo translated in my mind as exotic and venomous.

It was just a baby kingsnake.
So no one can blame Moses for jumping back.

But look what happened next.

God told him to GRAB IT BY THE TAIL!
I know what your thinking.

Moses did! He had just met the Lord God and was willing to take a step of faith.
Are you willing to face your worst fear today and grab it by the tail?
Remember it is written, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬
