Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Gen 1:28
Yesterday I saw a shark!
It was a baby, hardly a foot long.
The beach is a great place to sit, relax, nap, swim, surf, build sandcastles, and enjoy time with your family.
Nevertheless, in the water lie things that can hurt you. You must never forget this!
Yet God has given all these things as food.
He also gave us dominion over them.
There is no animal on the face of the earth that man has not killed with primitive weapons.
David spoke of being a young boy keeping the sheep and told King Saul, “Your servant has killed both lion and bear;” 1 Sam 17:36
It doesn’t matter if it’s a Siberian tiger or a Great White shark – man has the ability to subdue.
Although tigers and sharks can kill, that doesn’t mean you will die in the teeth of one. You have another terrible menace that has you in its grasp and will kill you – sin!
Sin is one foe you cannot subdue. It take a greater power than you can muster to defeat it.
The One that subdued sin is Jesus. By putting your life in His life, you, too, overcome sin.
