The challenge came at the beginning of the week.
You see, my wife and daughter gave me a Fitbit last week.
In case you don’t know, a Fitbit keeps up with how many steps you take in a day, sleeping hours, heart rate, and calorie burn.
So my daughter challenged me to a Work Week Challenge – who can get the most steps from midnight Monday to midnight Friday.
It exercised my competitive nature along with my legs and cardio!
I began walking during lunch for four miles. Then I make my grandson walk another two miles with me when I get home.
So for the past few days I have walked more than 15,000 steps a day.
It’s about to kill me!
But the exercise is good for the old man!
There is another exercise that is just as good if not better.
Exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 1 Tim 4:7-8
I’ll admit that it takes me roughly 15 minutes to walk a mile so I am spending an hour and a half a day walking.
I don’t believe I’m spending anywhere near that much time reading my Bible.
I wonder what a Spiritual Fitbit would say about how much I read the Bible, prayer, intercede, and share the Gospel.
I think the time is right to spend more time on the spiritual cardio!
