Christian – part 6

Christianity is not a passing fad. It’s not like bell bottoms, CB radio, and hula-hoop’s.
Being a Christian is for life. If you stop then chances are you are not a Christian.
The early church gives another glimpse into why the believers were called Christian’s at Antioch.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

Being like Christ was an everyday action for them – as it should be for us. They continued daily in Communion, fellowship, and praising God.

I’ve seen far too many people make a profession of faith only to abandon the Christian walk and return to worldly ways.
A true relationship with Christ should grow – not shrink.
The true Christian continues in being a Christian. He/she pushes forward.
You push forward through your own inadequacies and fears.
Many people tell me they can be a Christian without going to church. That’s not evident in the lives of the disciples. Without a formal building, like we have today, they met from house to house and celebrated Jesus in the fellowship of His Body!

For this reason it is written, let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Heb 10:24-25
