We have water! The pump motor was installed and the water was flowing in time to get cleaned up for church yesterday evening.
It was several hundred dollars to repair but what price can you put on water?
Throughout the history of mankind necessities to sustain life have been difficult to obtain. Think back to Eden.
Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. Gen 2:10
Water was in abundance and it flowed freely.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Gen 2:16-17
Food was in abundance and was gathered freely.
Then sin entered in and changed it all causing God to tell Adam, “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread.” Gen 3:17-19
Water was no longer as easy to obtain. Wells were dug by hand. Water was hauled for use. It had to be heated over a fire. Then came the convenience of indoor plumbing which was costly to install and can be costly to maintain.
But Jesus has overcome sin and the consequences of it. And the day will return when once again the water will flow clear and free.
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. Rev 22:1
Contrast that to where those that reject Jesus will end up – in a lake of fire.
Those that accept Him end up with a river of water of life.
I asked earlier, “What price can you put on water?” Jesus paid for the river with His own life!
Choose which you want to live with – river or lake!
