The Transplant

Linda and I were eating in Broaddus the other afternoon when Delwin walked in. He recently had a heart transplant. He said they told him it was the heart of a 20 to 30 year old.
He looked great and he’s doing great.

I cannot fathom how you can take such an organ out of one person and put it in another and get it going. An elderly gentleman with the heart of a young person – one life is lost to save another. Sounds like my Jesus!

I remember the news in the late 60’s about Dr. Christiaan Barnard performing the first successful human heart transplant, though the recipient died several days later from other complications.
Heart transplants are quite common today and much has been improved since the 60’s.

God has been transplanting hearts for thousands of years.
He says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezek 36:26

It seems God is good at not only transplanting new heart but a new spirit. He transplants a new birth and new life.
He gave His life so that you can have eternal life transplanted in you.
