Last night our Wednesday evening Bible study took quite a turn. In fact it took several.
One in particular was a young wife and mother that was unsure about her own salvation. She was so upset thinking about it that she was crying.
I sat and talked with her and told her she can have assurance of salvation. God doesn’t break promises and His light won’t leave you in the dark.
Earlier our study took us to Romans 10:9:
if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
I must have quoted that to her four or five times.
She did ask Jesus into her life. I heard her. She said she meant it from the heart. Her life has changed.
If you don’t know if you are going to heaven some day; if you’re hoping you will or just “think so”, you can have assurance!
God’s word says so!
These things I have written to you… that you may know that you have eternal life, 1 John 5:13
The Bible is God’s testimony that His word is true and He keeps His promises.
On final note, she looked at her husband afterwards and with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes said, “Now, I can read the Bible with you!”
