Praying!

My heart is for those in California that have lost their lives. What a horrible tragedy. I pray for their families that must deal with the loss. And I pray for the healing of those wounded.

Praying is what Christians do. And not only Christians but people of all faith and belief pray, including Buddhist and Muslims.
So those that believe in a higher power pray.
Those that don’t believe in a higher power gripe about those that do.

If you have seen the news then you may have seen the NY Daily News as it ridiculed those that asked for prayer for those in California, all of whom were Republicans, by the way!
More shocking are the comments that can be found under the articles reporting on the headline.

One person says God is incompetent and is not able to stop what we should be stopping ourselves.

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Gen 4:8

In a time with no crime a man killed his brother. No gun was used. I don’t believe he had a knife, bow and arrow, or spear.
He may have grabbed a stick or rock but he used his hands.
There was no provocation from his brother to be killed. The man was mad at God for not accepting his offering. He took his vengeance on his own brother.

Back to present day, as one comment said concerning prayer for disasters and tragedies, “When I see people on twitter with their “pray for (insert cause here)” hashtags, I want to reach through the screen and smack their face. Prayer is a bunch of ####. We have to solve these problems!”

So I’m praying for the victims of California and this person that wants to answer my prayer with a violent slap in the face.
And we have not and will not solve the problem ourselves. We can’t because we haven’t – not since the beginning. The truth is it grows worse!

Jesus talked about the end times and about His return.

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; Matt 24:22

I am sorry to say that humanity is bent on self-destruction. Jesus came to give peace, hope, joy, and love.
Jesus is the answer and so I will continue to preach Jesus for salvation and pray for those that reject Him.
