The Danger of Anger

I do not know what you may be struggling with today. I do not know what is against you.
I don’t know the problems in your family, at work, school, or in your church.
I do know that sin is rampant and satanic forces are infiltrating everything.
The fight you have is not against people because the Bible declares this. It is a spiritual battle.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12

The armor of God (Eph 6) is your only defense against this foe – an enemy that you must be on your guard against at all times.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, 1 Peter 5:8-9

The devil gets a foothold into your home when you allow emotions to get the best of you. One of the biggest emotions that will work against you is anger.

It is written,

“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Eph 4:26-27

When anger is allowed to run freely it can be violent. Anger will make people do things they normally would not!
People have killed because of anger. They have said regrettable things because of anger.

You may say that Jesus was angry. That is true but He did not sin because of it. His anger was in righteousness. Can you say the same about yours?

Paul instructs us to rid ourselves of anger.

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Col 3:8

Anger is the first step downhill to blasphemy and filthy language.
Walk away from anger.

I do not know what is against you but I do know Who is for you – Jesus Christ.

If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31
