Do you realize how many “deals” you are subjected to every day?
Deals to save you money, improve your looks, better your health, or make you rich.
They basically all make the same claim – to change your life.
Think back to how many different exercise devises you’ve seen on commercials through the years.
I remember when Suzanne Somers told us about the Thigh Master.
There have been stair steppers, ab tightners, dance videos, cross-country ski machines, running machines, walking machines, bow-flex machines, and on and on and on.
All will sculpt the way you look and change your life.
There are eating programs and pre-packaged meals to limit your caloric intake and make you lose weight. It will change your life as you look and feel younger and have more energy.
There are self-help programs destined to make a better you with their program of books, CD’s, and DVD’s that will encourage you to excel, succeed, and be confident. In 30 minutes you could be better looking and make more money than you’ve ever dream, thus having financial independence.
Daily you are barraged with messages, products, and promises of having your life change.
I’ve noticed that those with much and those with little have something in common – death.
It makes little difference how wealthy or healthy you are; death is not going to respect your situation.
Let me share with you something that can change your life eternally – Jesus Christ.
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. Rom 6:4-9
All those other guys offer something to help you between today and death. That’s fine and dandy, but what then?
Jesus did not come and offer an new product, eating plan, or exercise program. And although He speech was motivational, it wasn’t filled with self-help.
Jesus came and offered Himself! That’s the difference between His life-improvement-program and all the others.
Theirs are temporary and will still end with death.
His is eternal and results in the resurrection of the dead.
So, help yourself!
Do you want to give someone 30 minutes to change your life for a while?
Or do you want to give Jesus your life to change it forever?
