Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” Luke 12:13-14
Not everything is your business!
Not everything needs a comment from you.
Not everything needs a reaction from you.
That’s the understanding I get from this scripture.
I think we overreact to too many things; and when I say we I mean Christians. We tend to put everything under the microscope.
Unlike this person that shouted from the crowd and asked Jesus’ help, most of the time we tend to stick our nose where it doesn’t belong.
As for myself, I’m here to preach Jesus and Him crucified, buried, and resurrected.
I’m here to preach salvation for all that will repent of their sin.
Paul also addressed petty matters to a young pastor.
Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 2 Tim 2:14-16
Avoid the petty things and share Jesus.
