And a little child shall lead them Isa 11:6
It was one of the sweetest moments in church.
Last night we had our usual praise and worship and Bible study. Afterwards I always let everyone share their prayer needs.
When everyone has given theirs, we gather and hold hands in the back of the church and pray.
As we gathered and held hands, 3-year old Shaelin asked if she could pray.
What a special moment!
She didn’t say much and there was a name on the tip of her tongue but she just couldn’t get it out – but she prayed.
Jesus did say,
“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 18:3
Children are innocent and simple in how they see things.
They are totally dependent on a parent to give feed, clothe, and shelter them.
They feel secure in the arms of dad and comfort in the arms of mom.
They explore the unknown.
Children use their imagination and play wondrous and great games.
It’s no wonder that Jesus said what He did. Father wants us to be all those things – to depend on Him for the basic things in life. He wants us to feel comfort and security in His presence. He wants us to explore the wonders of Him.
He wants us to be simple and innocent.
I am thankful that little Shaelin reminded me of these things.
