Under the leadership of Moses, the people of Israel witnessed miracle after miracle. They saw the plagues of Egypt ravish the land and its people while they survived. As they left the land the Egyptian army pursued them to the Red Sea. It was here God performed another miracle.
The sea parted allowing the former slaves to walk across dry ground. As the army made its way through the seabed, the waters came crashing down on them.
The next morning the people of Israel saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on shore.
Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses. Ex 14:31
It would not be long before the people will turn against God and Moses.
They will worship idols, commit adulteries, complain, moan about food, groan about water, fight against leadership, and rebel against God!
The people forgot what God had done and we do much the same today.
If you know Jesus as Savior, then you know what God has done for you. How He delivered you from the bondage of sin and forgave your sins.
But like the Israelites, the moment troubles and struggles appear on the horizon you may find yourself in despair with your own moaning and groaning.
When that happens, be still! Take time to pray and remember what God has done for you; the times He came through for you. He will not forsake you! He is here!
