Greater Works

Jesus has power over storms, Satan, sickness, and eternal sleep. That’s not enough for some people.

When He returned home and taught God’s word the hometown crowd said,

“Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” Mark 6:2-3

Even today there are those that say He was just a good man or a prophet. They deny Him being Savior or Messiah. He is denied as being God in the flesh.

I would expect nothing different from the world. The problem is many of His own people deny Him by the way they live their life. If Jesus can change a life of sin then why do His followers still continue in sin?

Perhaps the answer is found in His response to the Ephesian church when He said,

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Rev 2:4

The church needs to fall in love with Jesus all over again. They need to take a hard look at what Jesus did, what He said His believers would do, and what we are actually doing.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12
