On the last Sunday of a month we decided to have a singing/band practice. This gives members in our church an opportunity to practice any special music for the coming month and it gives the praise band some time to play together.
So last night we met. A young man that just accepted Jesus as Savior cooked burgers, hotdogs, and steaks on the grill for everyone. Needless to say, it was a house full.
We played, we sang, we ate, we prayed, and we enjoyed ourselves!
Every time I sing a verse pops into my mind.
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Ps 66:1-2
That would be the King James version. The NKJV says,
Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Ps 66:1-2
One is joyful noise, which we often do while singing and playing, and the other says joyful shout.
I believe Father is please with your joyful praise to Him, whether it’s a noise, a shout, pleasant singing, off-key praise, or just talking. If you praise Him – He is pleased.
Many last night may have done little but to move their lips and sing under their breath, for fear that someone might hear them. God is please with your whispered praise but it matters little to Him if you can carry a tune or not.
Shout your praise! Make that joyful shout unto Him.
