A battle worth losing!

The word of God still does what it should do.

It is written,

For the word of God is living and powerful,

and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Heb 4:12-13

To me that means the word of God cuts deep. Listen to it and it will dissect you and open you up. There will be nothing that it won’t reveal.

Last night a young man experienced that cutting edge.

As we talked it was obvious he did not know Jesus as Savior. He admitted that he had lied. It doesn’t seem like a big sin before God but God isn’t interested in the size or quantity of sins. Just one separated him from God.

The word of God cut him deep and it hurt as he began to cry. Through his tears he prayed and admitted his sinfulness. He prayed and asked forgiveness. He prayed and the Lord Jesus forgave him.

He felt the Holy Spirit touch him and another person is redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

I’m am saddened that so many close their hearts and defend themselves against God’s word. They fight it off and many prevail and win that battle against God. But it’s a battle best lost.

Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matt 16:25

  1. Amen ! You know that scripture in Heb. 4 pertains to so much. “…even to the division…” think about it. What other thing might one want to divide? A child from harmful “friends”. Or a weather storm from the day or from you life. Did you know as a child of the Creator we can command storms to go away? Speak “it is written” quote the word of God to it. Even the knee of a storm must bow to our God. Circumstances will change when we speak as though a thing is when it is not yet. I speak as those my loved ones know & serve our risen Lord. I love to speak blessing over our grand-babies as they leave for school = calling it into being.
