Have you ever been told you’re casting the first stone?
Or said it to someone else?
It happens when someone makes a judgment statement, like if someone is unfaithful in their marriage and you call that person an adulterer.
Though the judgment is correct, you will be told something like the words of Jesus,
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” John 8:7
So let’s get stoned this week by reading what the Bible says.
He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God. Ex 31:18
Since the tablets were made of stone, the first is the Stone of Commandments.
You probably know what The Ten already say and you have probably broken a minimum of one. It doesn’t make any difference if you broke the adultery one or the covet one – break one and you break them all. (James 2:10-11)
The problem with the Commandments is the intent of the heart. You don’t have to physically commit adultery; all you have to do is lust after someone else.
You don’t have to physically kill someone else; all you have to do is just be angry with someone without cause. (Matthew 5:21-30)
You have been stoned by the Commandments. It wasn’t my doing or anyone else. You broke the commandments of God and are the one that will pay the price.
Later this week, you will find there is hope for you. But first you’re going to get stoned again next time.
