Social Fruit

Matt 7:20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

How do you get to know someone at work, at school, or around the neighborhood? You talk with them.
After a few conversations you’ll get to understand more about them – their likes and dislike, politics, hobbies, and religious beliefs.

That use to be the only way. Not anymore!

You can learn quite a bit from social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

You can find someone you’ve never met in person and find out their likes and dislike, politics, hobbies, and religious beliefs.
Plus you can get a glimpse into their family and friends through their photo’s.

Don’t misunderstand. I like social media. Without it I would not have know about the birth of a baby, a graduation from the military, or about the gps I recently bought.

With it comes just as much responsibility to behavior and attitude. If you are a Christian at work or school, then you need to be a Christian on social media.

The Apostle Paul used social media, even in the first century – it was called a letter!
In one of them (the letter to the Galatians) he said, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Gal 5:22-23

That fruit should be seen in the life of a Christian no matter where you are or what you are doing.

Abba, I pledge to reflect your light in all the things I do, wherever I may go, and in what I may say. As it is written, whatever I do in word or deed, do it in the name of Jesus! YES&AMEN

  1. As a Christian it’s easy to think other Christians should be living up to a higher standard. Thank God we can all have our own Bibles. It teaches us that because of His love for us , and our love for Him that we want to live in a manor that pleases Him…and not bring shame to His name. He offers forgiveness to those who will ask for it & strength to do better.
