Paul told the church about the resurrection.
He told them about the living being caught up.
He spoke of always being with the Lord.
Then Paul said, “Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you.” 1 Thess 5:1
I can only assume that the understanding of the return of Jesus was more well known back then than it is today because today has a lot of confusion about it.
Pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib all conflict with each other.
Somewhere along the way someone got away from God’s thoughts about it and added their own – hence all the different belief’s and confusion about it.
But you have an advantage over the Thessalonian church. You may not have the apostle Paul but you have his writings to them and the others churches. With enough study you will be the one he is talking about when he says, “..we don’t really need to write you!”
Abba Father, I love Your word. Your word is understandable except when the doctrines of men mix up with it. Help me to read Your word and hear the Holy Spirit teach me it’s purity! In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
