Seasoned with Love

John 8:10-11
“Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
“No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

The most well known verse in the Bible is “Judge not!” (Matt 7:1)

A careful look at what Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery reveals that He did not condemn her but He did judge her.
He told her not to sin anymore, which indicates that she did sin and He knew it!

Most Christians have good intentions when it comes to telling others about sin. It may seem judgmental but only because most don’t know how to coat their words in love.

The example of Jesus is to the point but doesn’t sound judgmental.

So next time you want to help someone, first pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the gentle words to say – words to lead someone from their sin and not push them further into it; words to draw them to the Savior and a deeper relationship with Him.

Abba Father, direct my words when I share my Savior with others. Let my speech be seasoned with Love; words to draw and not push away!
In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
