Listen Up.

Mark 4:24 – Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.
When I’m watching TV, whether it’s a movie or some documentary, I am engaged in listening carefully at what is said. Miss a bit of dialogue and you’ll miss a point of the movie or a bit of important information.

That’s the way I am with TV. With people it often becomes a different matter.

So what did you get out of yesterday’s sermon?
God gives pastors, teachers, and minister’s a message to deliver to the church, students, and disciples.

Perhaps you don’t think the message concerns you but I’ve discovered that when I listen I always get something out of it, even if it’s just one thing.

Much of what Jesus said that was misunderstood was because those around Him were not listening.
That still happens today.

Whether you’re in a meeting, talking to a friend, in the classroom, or even watching a movie, it will always pay to listen.

Rev 3:22 – Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

Abba Father, I know I am not always a good listener. I try intently to listen to what is being said but sometimes my mind drifts. I pray that you will help me with my discipline in keeping my mind and ears on what I hear.
In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN

  1. Yesterday’s sermon? Oh wait, I took notes! But I got the message before the sermon started. We had communion right after worship. I watched the ministers moving about doing what needed to be done, and I witnessed something…something in the spirit realm. It was almost like a brief commercial during an interesting movie. I did not understand, but it obviously happened. I watched & listened. The sermon was about a life changing (spirit growth) encounter with God. What I saw between the ministers was evidence of the encounter, the empowering, the life changing, joy possessing, calm peaceful walk, the enlightenment. It was WONDERFUL being in the house of my Lord with fellow believers. Thank You Lord JESUS.
