Mark 4:24 – Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.
When I’m watching TV, whether it’s a movie or some documentary, I am engaged in listening carefully at what is said. Miss a bit of dialogue and you’ll miss a point of the movie or a bit of important information.
That’s the way I am with TV. With people it often becomes a different matter.
So what did you get out of yesterday’s sermon?
God gives pastors, teachers, and minister’s a message to deliver to the church, students, and disciples.
Perhaps you don’t think the message concerns you but I’ve discovered that when I listen I always get something out of it, even if it’s just one thing.
Much of what Jesus said that was misunderstood was because those around Him were not listening.
That still happens today.
Whether you’re in a meeting, talking to a friend, in the classroom, or even watching a movie, it will always pay to listen.
Rev 3:22 – Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
Abba Father, I know I am not always a good listener. I try intently to listen to what is being said but sometimes my mind drifts. I pray that you will help me with my discipline in keeping my mind and ears on what I hear.
